Our Story

Family History

Growing up in small town communities in Central South Texas, we were taught from an early age hard work, doing what’s right, supporting the community, and family always comes first. These values are not only how we try living our personal lives but how we run our family business Central Texas Pitworks, LLC. Growing up in such tight-knit communities like New Ulm and Sealy Texas, we loved community gathering and celebrations. In fact, these events were the only entertainment and best things happening in our small little towns. At the heart of those events were caring people and traditional foods created and served by community volunteers, family members, and local community organizations. Some of our fondest memories at these local community events included the great meals, hospitality, and camaraderie that accompanied volunteering and serving our communities.
Following career goals after graduation from Texas A&M University, we decided to move away from our childhood communities and start out on our own. While it was very hard being away from our very large extended families, we were forced to grow closer as a couple and rely on each other in ways we could have never imagined. We also needed and wanted to develop those community events and gatherings we experienced growing up. Career moves along the way took us to Colorado, Iowa, Maryland, back to Colorado were we started the business, and now Elgin Texas were we have decided to settle down "permanently" and raise our son Wyatt. We are very excited to have returned home to Texas in May of 2021.

Working full time with the USDA and teaching at Elgin Middle School, we still have the work ethic and drive to do even more for us and our community. While very active in our community Boy Scouts Troop, Church, PTA, and other volunteer school activates, we still felt we could do more. This led us to start a business based on our childhood passion of serving great food to the community. Thus Central Texas Pitworks was born in October of 2017.
Business History
Central Texas Pitworks, LLC was created based on our family values and a desire to share traditional high end quality barbecue and community style meals just like the ones we grew up with. Many of our great Central Texas recipes have been passed down from generation to generation. Central Texas Pitworks, LLC has preserved and developed authentic options we feel you’d find at a typical event in our home towns. Currently a hobby business family run by Owners Gail and Cody Brokmeyer the current business model allows us to be flexible with event sizes, menu options, locations, and special requests needed to make your event one of a kind.
All of our main dish and side options are created from scratch following traditional Central Texas style methods. We pride or selves in taking no shortcut and following the old ways of creating our amazing food options. We source, plan, and create the menu options selected for events ourselves.
Being very busy with full time careers and raising a son requires we plan well in advance and ask our current and potential clients to keep this in mind should you decide to use us for your next event. While not the cheapest option, we strive to be competitively priced while still meeting the high quality standards set by ourselves and our clients.
